AHL All-Stars beat Sweden’s Farjestad BK 7-2
ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland (AP) — Brandon Pirri scored twice and added set up another goal to lead the American Hockey League All-Stars to a 7-2 victory over Sweden’s Farjestad BK on Wednesday night.
Pirri was selected the game Most Valuable Player.
“It was a lot of fun tonight,” the Chicago Blackhawks’ prospect said. “My linemates played a big part in it. It was a lot of fun and a great experience. It was about fun today and keeping up with good habits. We had a lot of speed there and it worked out well, we found chemistry early.”
Mike Hoffman of the Binghamton Senators added a goal and two assists, Ryan Strome of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers scored twice, and Ben Street of the Abbotsford Heat and Travis Morin of the Texas Stars also scored for the All-Stars. Magnum Nygren and Rickard Wallin scored for Farjestad BK.
Jake Allen of the Chicago Wolves (14 saves) and Dustin Tokarski of the Hamilton Bulldogs (20 saves) combined to stop 34 of 36 shots by Farjestad, the nine-time Swedish league champions who became the first SHL club to play in North America.
