Driver sentenced to 55 years in prison in church bus crash
UVALDE — Jack Young, the driver of a pickup truck that slammed into a church bus on March 29, 2017, and killed 13 elderly passengers, was just sentenced to 55 years in prison.
State District Judge Camile Dubose sentenced Young moments ago at the conclusion of a three-day sentencing hearing.

Young, 21, of Leakey, pleaded no contest in June to causing the deaths.
An investigation had shown that he had smoked marijuana and misused a prescription antidepressant the morning of the fatal accident on U.S. 83 north of Uvalde.
