ROSEMEAD, Calif. (AP) _ A woman was found alive today after being kidnapped from a house where four people were killed and two others were wounded, allegedly by the woman's ex-boyfriend.

The ex-boyfriend apparently was upset at the failure of their relationship, authorities said.

The 40-year-old woman was found early today after being released, and she was taken to a hospital for examination, Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Margarita Velazquez said.

Investigators were still looking for Evelio Rivera Zacarias, 42, who had fled with the woman Monday in a pickup, Deputy Carrie Stuart said

Officials did not immediately say how or where the woman was released.

The shooting happened about 8:30 p.m. Monday in a home in Rosemead, northeast of downtown Los Angeles.

``We heard multiple gunshots, about four, and then two minutes later another four or five more,'' said David Miranda, who lives next door. ``It was not a drive-by. Someone was emptying their gun.''

None of the victims' names were released but the woman's current boyfriend was among the dead, Stuart said. A woman and a boy were taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center but their conditions were not immediately known.

Rivera's ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend were visiting the current boyfriend's relatives when Rivera showed up, Stuart said.

``The suspect ... walked inside and began shooting just pretty much randomly,'' Stuart said.

Rivera and the woman had two children together but broke up two years ago, Stuart said. It was unclear if the children were among the victims.
