Eagles Sign WR Thrash

PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ James Thrash, who led the division rival Washington Redskins in receiving last season, agreed to a five-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.

Thrash had 50 catches for 653 yards and two touchdowns. His best game came against the Eagles when he had five receptions for 121 yards and one touchdown.

``He’s exactly the type of player we’re looking for to add to our team,″ coach Andy Reid said. ``He’s tough, he’s talented, and he has a great work ethic. We needed to upgrade at the wide receiver position, and James will certainly do that for us.″

Thrash, 25, was originally signed by Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent in 1997 out of Missouri Southern.
