Five Men Found Dead in St. Louis

April 29, 2001

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (AP) _ Five men were found dead inside a car parked in a garage Sunday, and police were investigating.

Police Chief Ron Henderson said investigators suspected the men died of carbon monoxide poisoning. He said there were no bruises or marks on the bodies, and that autopsies were planned.

Police spokeswoman Adella Jones said the car’s engine was not running. She said the ignition was turned on and the gas tank was empty.

One of the men was 21 and the others were believed to be about the same age, Jones said.

The father of one of the men discovered the bodies, authorities said.
