Pinard Leads St. B’s Past Douglas
Jon Pinard had himself a day as the St. Bernard’s baseball team topped Douglas, 8-5, on Wendesday.
Pinard went the distance on the hill, allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 7. The sophomore also came up big at the plate, notching 4 hits and driving in a pair while also scoring a run for St. Bernard’s (8-8).
Dom Cuevas drove in 3 runs and Keegan Sharp had 3 hits, including a triple, and an RBI.
ST. BERNARD’S 16, North Middlesex 3 — Mick Ginnity had a huge game to lead the Bernardians (15-2), potting 6 goals and dishing out 4 assists.
Mike Provencher added 4 goals and Dom Valera had 2 goals and 2 assists.
Theo Koeleman scored twice for North Middlesex.
LEOMINSTER 14, Adv. Math 1 — Eliza Howlett had 4 goals and 3 assists to pace the Blue Devils. Emily Ayles added 3 goals in the victory.
SHREWSBURY 4, Nashoba 1 — Matt Colbert recorded a first singles victory for the Chieftains (2-13).
FITCHBURG 5, Gardner 0 — Olivia Catalini, Gabrielle White and Madison Armstrong cruised to singles victories for the Red Raiders.
The first doubles team of Rohanji Novas and Sophia Armano and the second doubles tandem of Lisa Pavan and Ana Diaz also roared to victories for Fitchburg (11-1).
The Wildcats fall to 6-6.
QUABBIN 4, Leominster 1 — Ruby Roberge defeated Becky Norcross, 6--2, 6-2, in second singles action to account for the lone win for the Blue Devils (1-10).
SHREWSBURY 4, Nashoba 1 —Emma Hakala topped Athena Wu, 6-3, 6-2, for the only Chieftani (7-7) victory.
