Python peeps out of toilet bowl
COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) _ Thor Skule woke up instantly when he drowsily lifted the toilet seat early in the morning, and the head of a python peeped out of the water.
Skule yelled to his girlfriend, Karina Kristoffersen, who called the fire department, the Ekstra Bladet daily said Tuesday.
But before the firemen reached the central Copenhagen apartment, a toilet was flushed in the apartment building, sucking the three-foot snake back into the pipes.
The reptile disappeared for hours, prompting the firemen to go home. Kristoffersen, who is a zookeeper trainee, later managed to grab the exhausted python when it resurfaced in a neighbor’s toilet four hours later.
The snake had escaped in April from its owner who previously lived in Skule and Kristoffersen’s apartment, the daily said, adding such snakes can live for months without eating.
