Man arrested for giving alcohol, drugs to minor
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off this was not.
According to information from Lake Havasu City Police, 18-year-old Alexander Motto Currier, was arrested for giving alcohol to and endangering the health of an underage girl.
On the evening of April 29, an officer called the mother of the girl. She explained that when she woke at 5 a.m. she realized her daughter wasn’t home. The girl arrived at home at about 6:15 a.m. and told her mom she had been out all night.
The mother sent her daughter to school, but later that day, she received a call from officials who said someone had checked her out at about 1:15 p.m. The mother told police she had been dating someone named Alex and that her daughter had unscrewed her bedroom windows and had been sneaking out.
At about 8:40 p.m., the mother called police and said her daughter was possibly with Currier. When officers arrived at his residence, they told him they were looking for the girl. Currier told police he didn’t know her and she had told him her mother had kicked her out of her home. He said they picked up some fried chicken and went to his place to “hang out.”
A second officer determined the girl was drunk and when the first officer asked Currier about it, he said he didn’t know how she got her alcohol. The girl also gave conflicting accounts of the previous evening, according to police.
Currier allegedly said the two of them were at a friend’s home drinking and smoking marijuana after he picked her up. She said they smoked marijuana and drank alcohol.
The officer then took Currier into custody.
