Thunder, lightning postpone MSAC title game
HURRICANE, W.Va. — Thunderstorms rolling across the Tri-State forced a postponement of the Mountain State Athletic Conference boys soccer championship match Thursday between Huntington High and Hurricane.
The schools were in the midst of a scoreless junior varsity game when thunder in the area forced officials to stop the action. As thunder continued and lightning began followed by heavy rain the Hurricane athletic staff and Huntington High coaches decided to postpone the game.
Huntington High head coach Blaine Stoll, and game officials confirmed the game is rescheduled Wednesday at Hurricane with the junior varsity teams playing at 5:30 p.m. and and the MSAC championship contest set for 7:30 p.m.
