SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut real estate agent has been charged with leaving two young girls in a hot car for about 20 minutes as he showed a listing.

Southington police announced Wednesday that 38-year-old Karl Luberda was arrested Aug. 22 and charged with risk of injury to a child and leaving a child under 12 unsupervised.

Police responding to a witness report found the girls, ages 18 months and 4 years, in a locked car with the windows up on an 84-degree day.

Police say they were in the car for about 20 minutes.

The girls did not appear to be suffering and were taken home by their mother.

Luberda was released on $5,000 bond pending a Sept. 4 court date. No attorney was listed in court records.
