Police: Woman punched officer, fled on foot during stop
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) — Police in Delaware say a woman punched a police officer and fled during an “investigative stop.”
The News Journal cites a Rehoboth Beach police release that says police were called to a store Monday for a report of a woman throwing trash cans outside. Officers learned that a woman had been seen fighting in the parking lot and knocking over trash cans and newspaper stands before leaving in a vehicle.
Police say she was a passenger in a car officers pulled over. The release says she punched an officer in the chest and fled on foot, before being apprehended. As an officer tried to handcuff her, she kicked him multiple times, damaging his uniform.
Police say she continued to resist arrest. No one was seriously injured.
It’s unclear whether she has a lawyer.
