Decency And Honor Were Norms In U.S.
Editor: While listening to the tributes paid to Sen. John McCain by prominent members of both political parties, I was reminded of a time when decency and honor in American political discourse were the norms. I realized that those norms had such deep roots in the fabric of our country that I had taken them for granted. The eloquence of those speaking in tribute stood in stark contrast to the narcissistic pettiness of the White House’s current occupant. I am saddened by how Trump has diminished the stature of his office and with it the dignity of our nation. Tom Bubul WEST PITTSTON
