Amie L. Broeniman, 48, Appleton
Amie L. (Matson) Broeniman, 48, Appleton, was welcomed by the angels Aug. 23, 2018.
She fought a courageous battle against cancer and inspired many along the way. She was born June 17, 1970, to Alice (Quinn) and Duane “Butch” Matson of Beaver Dam. On Sept. 3, 1994, she married her true love and her rock James “Jim” Broeniman. Together they had three girls.
Amie was a giver and filled her life with service and love of others. She was a homemaker, an advocate for her children’s health needs and could engage as an equal with any doctor or nurse. She drew her strength from helping others. Amie was a champion for neurofibromatosis research and supported many families with children with NF. She had a huge heart and welcomed new and old friends openly to their home. She could be found at Miracle League Softball games, Allie’s track meets, making spaghetti for the LU softball team, listening to Jimmy Buffett or just hanging out in the yard enjoying the tiki bar.
She grew up in Beaver Dam and graduated from high school there in 1988. She graduated from UW Oshkosh in 1993.
She will be missed by her parents; the Broeniman family; husband, Jim; daughters, Allie and her fiancé, Alec Palmer, Emma and Delaney; her two siblings, Josh (Andrea) Matson and their son, Jack; and Beth (Rudy) Sennhenn and their children Brittany, Gretta and Eli. She also has many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will continue to cherish her spirit and love.
Visitation will be Aug. 31 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Service will follow at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel, 606 N Oneida St., Appleton. In a tribute to Amie and her love of Jimmy Buffett, please wear Hawaiian print or bright colored clothing. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Amie and James Broeniman Trust for the medical needs of the Broeniman girls.
Special thanks to Dr. Brad Heraly and nurse practitioner Sara Meiers and the staff at St. Elizabeth’s Cancer Center for their personal care, concern and guidance.
