Woman Held After Man Killed With Frying Pan
PATERSON, N.J. (AP) _ A woman was jailed on a murder charge after a man was beaten to death with a frying pan in her home, authorities said.
Rosa Lee Simes, 36, was arrested Sunday and was being held at Passaic County Jail on Wednesday pending a bail hearing, said police Capt. Mario DeFranco.
Robert Glover, 53, died Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. An autopsy showed he died from multiple blows to the head that fractured his skull, DeFranco said.
Ms. Simes was holding a get-together at her home for Glover and another male friend when an argument began over money early Sunday morning, DeFranco said.
She went into the kitchen and returned with a cast-iron skillet, which was used to hit Glover in the head, DeFranco said. The other man at the get- together was not charged.
″It was unclear who owed who money,″ DeFranco said.
A bloodied frying pan was recovered at the scene, police said.
