Swissair Signs Marketing Agreement With Delta
ZURICH, Switzerland (AP) _ Swissair, Switzerland’s national airline, said it has signed a marketing accord with Delta Airlines, the United States third-largest carrier.
The accord, announced at a press conference Thursday, came in a memorandum of understanding signed Wednesday between Swissair president Otto Loepfe and Delta Chairman Ron Allen.
The agreement will coordinate passenger and cargo schedules on the airlines’ North Atlantic routes, and will provide for coordinated planning and joint marketing. Allen said the agreement also would provide opportunities for cooperation in the technical and operational fields.
Both airlines recently ordered McDonnell Douglas’ new MD-11.
