COMMISSIONER APOLOGIZES-BUS INCIDENT — A county commissioner who also is a road crew member has apologized for tossing a sharp-tined garden rake under a passing school bus carrying 11 kids in southwest Nebraska. He says the speed of passing vehicles had frustrated him. UPCOMING: 300 words.

PRAIRIE DOG PARCEL SOLD — Doane University has sold a southeast Nebraska parcel that is believed to hold the easternmost colony of black-tailed prairie dogs in the state. UPCOMING: 275 words.

ANGLER MISSING — Authorities say they’ve recovered the body of a man missing since he and his girlfriend accidentally drove off a cliff into the water near where the Missouri River flows into Lewis and Clark Lake in northeast Nebraska.

BANK ROBBER SENTENCED — A man suspected of twice robbing a south Lincoln bank branch has been given seven years in federal prison.

SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA FATALITY — Authorities say one person died and another was injured in a collision just south of Beatrice in southeast Nebraska.
