Woman arrested in stabbing that left 1 seriously wounded
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police have arrested a Hartford woman accused in a stabbing that left one person seriously wounded.
The Hartford Courant reports that 25-year-old Joycelee Ortiz-Maisonet was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree assault for her role in a June 24 stabbing outside a Park Street bar.
Police say Ortiz-Maisonet stabbed the victim in the thigh and buttocks after they had an argument inside the bar. The victim’s identity and gender were not released.
Hartford police say the victim required suffered serious injuries and required “extensive surgery.”
Ortiz-Maisonet was arrested after police identified her as the suspect. She was held on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Friday.
