BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) _ Brian Loney scored with 9:54 left to give the Syracuse Crunch a 4-3 AHL victory over Binghamton on Sunday night, snapping the Rangers’ seven-game winning streak.

Loney converted a cross-ice pass from Nathan Lafayette to break a 3-3 tie. Mike Peca assisted on all the Syracuse goals in the battle between the top two teams in the Southern Division.

Rangers right wing Jeff Nielsen tied it 3-3, beating goalie Mike Fountain with a 15-footer to the glove side at 10:02 of the third period.

Jim Hiller scored twice to give the Rangers a 2-0 first period lead. Syracuse bunched three goals in the first 9:10 of the second period, by Alex Staojanov, Daryl Filipek and Rick Girard.

Binghamton (16-6-2) leads the Southern Division by nine points over Syracuse (11-10-3).
