Wells Fargo branch robbed for 2nd time this week
The Wells Fargo bank branch at 901 W. State Blvd. was robbed this morning, Fort Wayne police said.
It was the second robbery at the branch this week. Another robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash Monday morning.
In today’s robbery, about 11:40 a.m. police responded to a report of a robbery. They were told the suspect entered the branch, passed a handwritten note to a teller demanding cash, got an undisclosed amount of cash and left on foot.
The suspect was described as an adult man in his 20s, 5-feet-10 to 6 feet tall, black, with Afro-style hair and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with gray trim.
In Monday’s 9:35 a.m. robbery, a man in a gray Nike hooded sweatshirt entered the bank, passed a note to a teller demanding cash and indicated he was armed, although he never displayed a weapon.
That robber was given cash and ran east from the bank, police have said.
Monday’s robber is described as in his early 20s, white, and 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing the hooded sweatshirt, with bold black Nike lettering on the front with black sleeves, a black ball cap, blue denim jeans and black high-top athletic shoes.
Anyone who may have seen either robbery suspect is asked to contact police at 427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
