The Clydesdales come to town for Florence After Five
FLORENCE, S.C. — The Budweiser horses paraded through Downtown Florence delivering beer to local businesses during Florence After Five on Friday.
Several hundred people lined North Dargan Street to watch and take photos of the Clydesdales’ hitching ceremony from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and parade at 6 p.m. As the Clydesdales paraded the streets, members of local busineses stood on the side of the street to receive beer from the coachmen. The Clydesdales were on display until 7 p.m.
After the parade, Blackwater Rhythm and Blues Band took the center stage and several hundred people gathered on Dargan Street to watch the performance. Attendees could purchase drinks and snacks while listening to the live music.
Jessica Briggs said she came out to the event to hang out with friends and see how downtown is expanding.
“My favorite part is a tie between the community and the music,” Briggs said. “I love getting to catch up with old friends and see who comes out, and I enjoy listening to the bands every month.”
There are two more Florence After Five events this year: the Sept. 28 event featuring Spare Change and the Oct. 26 event featuring Paper Work.
