Nashoba Tech Knocked Out in North Championship Game

WESTFORD -- St. Mary’s won its fourth straight MIAA North championship with a complete 39-14 win over host Nashoba Tech (6-4).

The Spartans ran off 20 points in the first quarter and led 32-0 at half.

Senior running back Connor Donohue ran for three touchdowns and 150 yards on nine carries.

Fellow senior halfback Jalen Echevarria would add scoring runs of 49 and 62 yards and had 172 yards on nine carries.

Their final score came on a 62-yard fumble recovery return by junior linebacker Alec Colacitti. Senior George Freeman had one conversion run and senior Brendan Laundry had a single conversion kick.

St. Mary’s (7-3) amassed 378 yards rushing and did not complete a pass on three tries.

The Vikings came out and played an even game in the second half.

Senior quarterback Eli Norton completed 4 of 10 passes for 41 yards to four different receivers.

He rushed 19 times for 153 yards and had a 4-yard scoring run.

Nashoba senior fullback Luke McKenna ran the ball 12 times for 111 yards and the highlight was a 68-yard run for a score.

Both conversion kicks by freshman Randy Delva were successful.
