TOGOCHO, Japan (AP) _ Australian Ian Baker-Finch and Japanese pros Masaji Kusakabe and Futoshi Irino each shot a four-under-par 66 Thursday to share the lead after the first round of the $643,000 Chunichi Crowns golf tournament.

Baker-Finch picked up five birdies against one bogey in his round on the 6,491-yard, par-70 Wago course at the Nagoya Golf Club.

One shot off the pace at 67 were Japan's Kazushige Kohno and Kenny Knox of the United States.

Americans Scott Simpson and David Ishii were tied with several others for sixth place at 68.

Japan's Isao Aoki, fresh from scoring his 50th career victory in last week's Dunlop International, was among six players tied for 14th at 69.
