Boehm pushes educational infrastructure
MADISON - Mike Boehm, University of Nebraska Vice President for Agriculture made a stop at the Madison County Fair Wednesday during a listening tour he’s taking through northeast Nebraska.
Boehm told News Talk WJAG a main topic he’s covering is the educational infrastructure in the state.
“In America there’s some daunting statistics. If you can’t read by third grade, your four times less likely to graduate from high school, and if you don’t graduate from high school your sixty-two more times likely to be incarcerated in your life” Boehm said.
He says Nebraska does a great job of supporting the youth, and the 4-H programs are thriving.
His next stop will be in Columbus Tuesday.
