Teleflex: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

WAYNE, Pa. (AP) _ Teleflex Inc. (TFX) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $83.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Wayne, Pennsylvania-based company said it had net income of $1.77 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $2.66 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.59 per share.

The medical equipment maker posted revenue of $652.5 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $636.7 million.

Teleflex expects full-year earnings in the range of $10.90 to $11.10 per share.

Teleflex shares have climbed 31% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 25% in the last 12 months.
