TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man convicted of fatally shooting his wife before an hours-long standoff with police has been sentenced to life in prison.

A judge in Toledo sentenced Terry Campbell on Friday, a day after jurors found him guilty of aggravated murder in the death of his wife Cora.

Prosecutors say the 42-year-old man shot his wife multiple times Dec. 16 after their relationship ended. He then barricaded himself in their Toledo home until he surrendered six hours later.

Police say the couple's 10-month-old was inside the home at the time.

Campbell's lawyer argued the man was guilty of murder, but the shooting was not pre-planned. She says he became angry over concerns of infidelity.
