Medical Records Seized In Baby’s Death
State troopers investigating the death of a newborn baby found stuffed in a trash bag have seized medical records for the mother who claimed no knowledge of her pregnancy.
The mother gave birth to a baby girl while at a home in Union Twp. on Nov. 2. The woman told troopers she did not know she had been pregnant.
In a search warrant filed in court Tuesday, troopers wrote the mother’s foster sister and her husband said they had no knowledge the woman had been pregnant. But the foster sister told police the mother had an appointment with Dr. Erica Perez in Shickshinny on Oct. 23.
According to the warrant return, troopers seized 21 pages of records about the mother that were filed between Feb. 1 and Nov. 2, the nine months of her pregnancy.
No charges have been filed.
