Leeds Takes Lead in England

LONDON (AP) _ Leeds United returned to the top of the Premier League on Sunday, beating Derby County 3-0 on Harry Kewell’s first two goals of the season.

Leeds jumped from fourth to first place and leads Bolton by two points. Bolton held Arsenal to a 1-1 tie Saturday despite playing with 10 players most of the game.

Arsenal leads Manchester United on goal difference. United downed Ipswich 4-0 on Saturday despite resting nine top players before Tuesday’s Champions League against Deportivo de La Coruna of Spain.

West Ham climbed out of last place with a 3-0 victory over Newcastle. Middlesbrough rallied from two goals down to gain a 2-2 tie with Chelsea.

On Saturday, Liverpool star Michael Owen limped off the field with a hamstring injury and will miss England’s World Cup qualifier against Greece on Oct. 6. Manager Gerard Houllier expects him to be out three weeks.
