Victims of Hiroshima, Nagasaki remembered

August 7, 2018

Community members gather Monday near the College Avenue bridge overlooking the Kishwaukee River to remember the more than 100,000 people who were killed in the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki near the end of World War II. The DeKalb Interfaith Network for Peace and Justice hosted the commemoration that featured dropping flowers into the Kishwaukee River and readings of poems and articles written about the bombings.
