South Side bank robbed, police searching for suspect

Pittsburgh police are investigating the robbery of a South Side bank Thursday morning.

The robbery took place at 10:20 a.m. at the First National Bank in the 1100 block of E. Carson Street.

According to police, an unidentified male entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect walked out of the bank. The suspect did not show a weapon during the robbery and there were no reported injuries, police said.

The suspect was wearing a black jacket, baseball cap, jeans and white tennis shoes. Police described him as being in his 40s, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 230 pounds.
