Columbia County Sheriff’s Office to help Lodi Police Department during transition
The Lodi Police Department now has a road map for its future after multiple officers resigned within days of each other.
Lt. Craig Freitag is leaving his position at the end of May to take a job as chief of police in the city of Clintonville. Scott Klicko resigned as Lodi’s chief on April 26. Michael Andrews recently accepted a job offer as a patrol officer for the Sauk Prairie Police Department. His last day in Lodi was Monday.
And on Monday, Lodi Police Commission President Robert Westby also resigned, Freitag said.
But with help from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and a consulting firm, Freitag says the department’s future is now more secure.
