HELP DOWN THE STRETCH
Tim Hardaway signed with the Indiana Pacers on Thursday. The 36-year-old Hardaway, who has not played this season, averaged 17.9 points and 8.3 assists in 12 seasons with Miami, Golden State, Denver and Dallas. He had been working as an analyst for ESPN.
ON A ROLL
Tracy McGrady scored 30 points Thursday in Orlando's 110-107 win over Minnesota. It was his 12th straight game with at least 30 points. Kevin Garnett had 26 points and 14 rebounds in a losing cause for the Timberwolves. He has recorded a double-double in 20 of his last 21 games.
OFF THE PACE
Houston's 98-85 loss to San Antonio on Thursday dropped the Rockets (37-35) a half-game behind idle Phoenix in the race for the eighth and final postseason berth in the Western Conference.
TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE
The Clippers scored more points in the fourth quarter (36) than they did in the entire first half (32) in Thursday's 93-83 loss to Sacramento.
