Woman: Thieves took jewelry, hot dogs, grandfather’s ashes

November 19, 2018

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina woman says someone broke into her home and stole food, alcohol and her grandfather’s ashes.

WSPA-TV reports that Spartanburg police say the break-in happened on Saturday. The woman says missing items included jewelry, makeup, hot dogs, frozen pizzas and Jack Daniel’s whiskey.

Police also note that the container in which the ashes were kept wasn’t taken - just the ashes themselves.

The woman told police only she and one other person have keys to the home since the deadbolt lock was replaced last month following another break-in.
