Inukai Re-elected President of Kyodo News Service
TOKYO (AP) _ Yasuhiko Inukai was re-elected president of Kyodo News Service for another two years at a general meeting today, the agency announced.
Inukai, 65, became president in September 1991, succeeding Shinji Sakai, who resigned in part over a series of plagiarized medical articles transmitted by the agency. Sakai is now an adviser to the news agency.
Kyodo said Inukai’s two-year term will run through June 1994.
He joined Kyodo News Service in 1953 after graduating from Gakushuin University in Tokyo and became managing director in 1986.
Kyodo said Shigeru Aoki, president of the newspaper Nishi Nippon Shimbun, was re-elected for a two-year term as chairman of the board of directors.
