BOSTON (AP) _ Brian McKenna scored on a blocked punt 1:35 into the game and Craig Cummings scored the first of his three touchdowns four minutes later as the University of Delaware rolled to a 49-17 Atlantic-10 victory over host Boston University on Saturday.

Delaware’s Michael Pearson blocked a Brad Costello punt and McKenna ran it in from the 2 for the Blue Hens’ first score. On its next series, Delaware marched 72 yards, all on the ground, with Cummings scoring on a 22-yard run.

Running back Roger Harriott of Boston University (0-4, 0-2) led all ball-carriers with 121 yards on 24 attempts.

Andre Thompson carried 14 times for 89 yards to lead Delaware (4-1, 3-1), which picked up 327 yards on the ground.

An 84-yard touchdown pass from BU quarterback Dave Pizzotti to tight end Mike Leach closed the gap to 14-7 with 1:53 left in the first quarter, but Delaware put the game away with second-quarter rushing touchdowns from Greg McGraw and Cummings.

Leading at the half, 28-7, Delaware added second-half touchdowns from Cummings, Derrick Downs and Basil Greenwood.

Delaware has beaten the Terriers nine straight times. Dating back to last season, BU has lost eight games in a row and 22 of its last 24.
