Needles Middle School important dates

NEEDLES — With the 2018-19 school year starting on Aug. 13 at 8:45 a.m. (first bell) the Needles Middle School staff is reminding parents and guardians of some important dates.

Registration continues for seventh-grade students on Aug. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon; for eighth grade and new students on Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon, in the NMS office.

• Sept. 3, Labor Day, no school;

• Oct. 12, end of first quarter;

• Oct. 15-19, fall break, no school;

• Oct. 24-25, parent-teacher conferences;

• Nov. 12, Veterans Day, no school;

• Nov. 22-23, Thanksgiving break, no school;

• Dec. 20, end of the second quarter;

• Dec. 21 - Jan. 4, winter break;

• March 25-29, spring break;

• May 31, last day of school.

According to NMS staff prices for yearbooks will be $20 for softcover, $25 for hardcover. After winter break prices will increase to $30. A package deal will also be offered. Checks are to be made out to Needles Middle School Yearbook. Physical education locks will be assigned to a gym locker. Students are responsible for their assigned lock and if the lock goes missing there will be a $5 charge to replace it. The same applies to the P.E. uniform. The price of replacement for T-shirt or shorts is $10 each.
