KOBE, Japan (AP) _ Former Oakland Athletics player Troy Neel doubled home two runs in a five-run third inning as the Orix BlueWave beat the Yomiuri Giants 5-2 on Thursday for their first Japan Series title.

Orix's 4-1 series victory comes 21 months after an earthquake devastated Kobe and killed more than 6,000 people. Neel, who led the Pacific League with 32 homers and 111 RBIs, was selected the most valuable player in the series.
