A Beech Island man was arrested after allegedly pulling a gun on a man at a gas station on Sand Bar Ferry Road, according to a report from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Curtis Sims Jr., 21, was arrested and charged with assault and battery third degree, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and pointing and presenting firearms at a person.

According to the report, the victim stated he pulled up behind Sims at a gas pump and, after waiting a few minutes, went up to Sims and asked if he was getting gas. The report says that then Sims pulled a pistol on him and racked the slide back. The victim went back to his vehicle, and Sims got out of his vehicle and swung at him multiple times, the report says. The victim did appear to have been punched in the face, the report says.

Two firearms were found in Sims’ car, along with what appeared to be marijuana, the report says.
