City hosts tribute to H.W. Bush with La Mafia, Yolanda Adams concert
Mayor Sylvester Turner is hosting a concert Monday night to honor the life of its hometown leader, President George H.W. Bush, and all of Houston is invited.
The lineup will include legendary Tejano stars La Mafia, gospel singer Yolanda Adams and country musicians Clay Walker, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, according to a news release.
The musical tribute begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, located at 901 Bagby Street, and will last about an hour, officials said. The celebration will also include a prayer session from Jewish, Muslim, Christian and Hindu faith leaders.
Attendees are encouraged to wear colorful socks as an ode to Bush’s penchant for the accessory.
