Israeli politicians to meet with Mass. officials
BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick and other state officials are welcoming a delegation of Israeli leaders to Massachusetts.
Six members of Israel’s Knesset, representing five different political parties, are scheduled to have lunch on Monday with Patrick, state Treasurer Steven Grossman and U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano.
The delegation is on a five-day visit to Boston and New York, set up by the Ruderman Family Foundation in an effort to strengthen ties between the American Jewish community and Israeli political figures.
Patrick, who led a Massachusetts trade delegation to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in 2011, says he’s proud of what he called a growing economic and cultural partnership between Massachusetts and Israel.
