A warm and mostly dry holiday weekend forecast
Finally, a memorable Memorial Day weekend forecast.
Looking at Friday and into the holiday weekend, temperatures will be seasonable through the first half of the weekend, with summer-like readings expected on Sunday, the National Weather Service says.
Conditions will be dry through the day Saturday. There will be a chance for showers and t-storms Saturday night and just a passing shower on Sunday.
Bonus: Memorial day will be slightly cooler, but still above normal and summer-like, with dry conditions.
Unlike other Memorial Days there will no heavy downpours on parades and ceremonies.
The weather will also be good for outdoor picnics because any showers will hold off until Saturday evening.
The NWS’s hourly forecast has the best chance of showers between 7 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday.
Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Northwest wind 8 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 48. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Saturday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 73. Light southwest wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
Saturday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. South wind 8 to 10 mph.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 83. West wind 6 to 9 mph.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.
Memorial Day: Sunny, with a high near 78.
