MARQUETTE, Mich. _ Authorities say searchers have found the body of a Northern Michigan University student who went missing on a hike to photograph waterfalls in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The search for 25-year-old Guiancarlo Estupigan began Friday in Marquette County’s Ishpeming Township and continued over the weekend. Sheriff Greg Zyburt says Estupigan was found dead Sunday afternoon. SENT: 150 words.


—MIDWEST BANK MERGER: Chemical Financial Corp. plans to acquire TCF Financial Corp. in an all-stock deal worth $3.6 billion that will create a Detroit-based bank with $45 billion in assets.

—UP HIGHWAY CLOSURE: Authorities in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula have reopened a highway that was closed because of a large multi-vehicle crash that seriously injured three people.

—KRESGE-EMINENT ARTIST: Poet and activist Gloria House has been selected as the 2019 Kresge Eminent Artist for her achievement in the arts and contribution to the growth and vibrancy of Detroit’s cultural environment.
