3 Romanians killed in road accident in Hungary
BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Officials say three Romanian citizens have died in a highway accident in Hungary involving several vehicles, including a truck, three small buses and five cars.
Hungarian police said the accident took place Friday on the M5 highway, 25 kilometers (15 miles) south of Budapest, also injuring 30 people.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry said 18 Romanians were among the injured after a truck with Bulgarian license plates slammed into their parked bus.
Spokeswoman Brandusa Predescu said the injured were being treated at four hospitals in Hungary. Officials said the truck was traveling at about 80 kilometers an hour (50 mph) and smashed into the small bus which had its emergency lights on.
Romanian senior health ministry official Raed Arafat was traveling to Hungary to assist the accident victims.
