STAMFORD — One person was injured due to a house fire on Fairfield Avenue Thursday evening.

The Stamford Fire Department got a call at 5:40 p.m. and responded with five engines, one ladder truck, and one heavy rescue truck. They quickly laid down three lines to the wood-framed house, said Deputy Fire Chief Patrick Tripodi.

It took about 20 minutes to get the fire, which was contained to one bedroom, under control.

While no firefighters were injured, one person evacuating the building was but they refused treatment and transport to the hospital.

In total, six people will need to be relocated from the gray, two-story home.

Tripodi said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
