Three Killed Over $500 Drug Debt
HAVANA, Fla. (AP) _ A gunman lined up five people in a crack house and shot four of them in the head because one victim owed him a $500 drug debt, Gadsden County sheriff’s investigators said.
Three women died, while the man who owed the money survived with only a broken jaw, authorities said Friday. Another man was unharmed.
Thursday’s shooting in this town 14 miles north of Tallahassee mirrored one in Philadelphia a week earlier, where seven people were lined up in a dilapidated row house and executed by four masked intruders.
Investigators said drug dealer Allen Richardson, 37, owed the debt to Reggie Holmes, 19, another dealer. ``I think his purpose in going there was to get revenge on Richardson and the girls just happened to be there,″ sheriff’s Capt. David Ganious Jr. said.
Holmes, arrested at his grandmother’s house, is charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
He was assigned a public defender, whose name was not immediately available. Telephone calls to the Gadsden public defender’s office were not answered Saturday.
