Ski resort ordered to pay $5K for clothing order
NEWFANE, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont ski club that faced foreclosure has been ordered to pay for over $5,000 worth of clothing.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports an order signed Friday says the Hermitage Club must pay $5,752 to Kansas-based Gear For Sports Inc. Hermitage Club founder Jim Barnes didn’t respond to a complaint last month.
According to court documents, the club purchased unisex adult hoodies and children’s clothing from the company on credit. The unpaid balance included interest and attorney’s fees.
Hermitage officials have been trying to restructure ever since the resort and multiple other properties were foreclosed on by the mortgage holder.
A court appointed receiver has been working to preserve the properties until they are sold or auctioned off.
