ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ Dion Harper scored a career-high 21 points as Texas-Arlington rode a hot first half to an 88-77 victory over Northern Arizona Saturday night.

Brian Myers scored 10 points in the game's first eight minutes as UTA (2-2) bolted to a 53-28 lead by halftime on 70 percent shooting.

The Lumberjacks (1-2) returned fire after intermission, going on a 38-15 rampage in the first 13:30 of the second half to close the Mavericks' lead to 68-66.

But UTA held off the challenge on 60.9 percent shooting for the game.

Myers finished with 18 points and Reggie Brown added 12.

Charles Thomas led the Lumberjacks with 23 while Nick Holt scored 17. Each scored 14 points in the second half in UNA's furious comeback try.
