Whitney Houston Cancels Concert
CONCORD, Calif. (AP) _ Citing illness, Whitney Houston canceled a concert in the San Francisco Bay area an hour before she was to perform on the last scheduled stop on the U.S. leg of her world tour.
Most of the audience had already arrived for Sunday’s show, said Michael McNally, the house manager at Concord Pavilion.
Lance Walden, a spokesman for Ms. Houston’s label, Arista, said he didn’t know the nature of her illness. Her management company, Nippy Inc., said it couldn’t provide information on the cancellation until Tuesday.
Ms. Houston also canceled or postponed shows in Tennessee, Missouri, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. on the tour.
The show in Concord will not be rescheduled. Ticket-holders will receive full refunds, McNally said.
