Shooting victim found near Brockton train tracks
BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — Brockton police are investigating a non-fatal shooting early on Thanksgiving Day.
The Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1ThIn9f ) reports that the victim was found hiding near the MBTA Commuter Rail tracks with a gunshot wound to the left foot on Thursday morning.
Police investigated after getting several calls from residents and an alert from the city’s electronic gunfire detection system just after 4 a.m.
Officers recovered six .45-caliber shell casings from the scene.
At 7:19 a.m., police received a call that someone may have been struck by a train.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim had not been struck by a train, but was suffering from a large caliber gunshot wound.
The victim, who is expected to survive, was uncooperative with police. His name was not released and there have been no arrests.
