Ghosts Get on the Board
WESTFORD -- Westford Academy topped Waltham, 21-6, in a Dual County League Large School football game on Saturday afternoon for its first win of the season.

The Grey Ghosts were up 7-6 at halftime. Westford (1-1) then sealed the win with touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters and a dominating defensive effort.
The game was played at Nashoba Tech due to construction around the Academy’s football field. It was originally scheduled to be played Friday night but moved when the home field was not available.
Nick Antes opened the scoring for the Grey Ghosts with a 2-yard touchdown run. Chris Kennedy kicked the first of his three conversions and Westford had a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Waltham trimmed the deficit to 7-6 on a touchdown run by Evan Clark in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Adam Ohanian returned an interception 13 yards for a score to up the Grey Ghost lead to 14-6.
Mike Kennedy hauled in a 32-yard pass from Cam Diarisano for the final Westford score.
Westford’s defense kept Waltham (0-2) from scoring in the second half.
The Grey Ghosts will play a non-league game at Haverhill on Friday night.
