SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Marmet Williams had a career-high 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead San Jose State to a 60-49 victory over winless Sacramento State on Wednesday night.

David Drakeford scored 17 and Leland Matthews had 13 for Sacramento State (0-8). Michael Quinney had 12 points for San Jose State (1-5).

Williams, who came within one assist of recording the first triple-double in San Jose State history, scored nine of his points during a 15-0 run in the second half. It was the longest streak this year for the Spartans.

San Jose State trailed 35-29 with 17:41 left in the game when Brad Kennett began the rally with an inside jumper. Williams put the Spartans ahead for good at 15:00.

San Jose State led by as many as 15 points late in the game.
